Women's Spring Retreat

Come for a weekend of relaxation, rejuvenation, fellowship, and inspiration with women of faith.

What Kind of Ancestor Do You Want to Be?

“… the practice of becoming an ancestor requires the release of our grip upon what is, the letting go of certain ways of being in the world to embrace the changes required for the stream of life to keep flowing vigorously…

Women need the treasure of intergenerational friendship and fellowship. From within the shelter of beloved places and relationships across the ages, women embody wisdom that has formed our lives and that, in turn, will shape the lives of those who follow us.

Heirs to Sacred Scriptures, we have the gift of faith ancestors to guide us in living a meaningful life. Sensing our way into our faith and family legacies is one way to respond anew to the call of discipleship. In the season of Easter, we know that death remains in life. In the face of mortality, what does emerging life look like for you this spring? How might working with the memory of people and communities who have shaped you be of help as you discern how to live now, for the sake of those who come after you? What is your legacy? Why is that a gift to others? We will draw upon the Jewish tradition to write our own ethical wills.
