“Sent Forth by God’s Blessing”
By Omer Westendorf
“The seed of his teaching, receptive souls reaching,
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
His grace did invite us, His love shall unite us,
To work for God’s kingdom and answer his call.”
It appears simpler and safer in life to keep quiet about God, as opposed to speak up and look a fool or to be shunned. How do we begin to serve God? The answer is clear and in black and white (or sometimes red) – The B-I-B-L-E – God’s guidebook for life. He will never abandon us but is ever at our sides to love and guide us.
When we study God’s word by reading, listening to sermon or song, in study groups, or perceptive listening to answered prayer, God leads us to service. Our receptive souls have us reaching to grasp His word so that we can blossom into action. The action is fulfilling His command to serve His people and teach of His love.
God’s love erases division and unites us as one. The fact that we are individuals permits us to serve in unique manners. Yet, when we work in unison, we present a support system that can be relied upon for help and guidance. Thus, we are Sent Forth by God’s Blessing!
Lord, we ask that you keep our souls reaching to you, and that you grant us knowledge, wisdom, strength, courage, guidance, and the will to serve as your ambassadors. Amen
